My work is grounded in rigour, ethical integrity, and practical relevance — producing evidence that is methodologically credible, contextually appropriate, and designed to inform real decisions.

How I work

Community-led, not extractive

I embed participatory methods throughout wherever possible — ensuring the people most affected by the issues I'm researching have role in shaping the questions, the process, and the findings. I'm also honest about the constraints: budget, timeline, access, and security conditions don't always allow for the depth of participation I'd ideally want. When that's the case, I'll say so clearly and work with you to find the most meaningful approach within what's actually feasible.

Rigorous and ethical

I hold myself to high standards of research ethics, data quality, and methodological transparency. I place particular emphasis on the traceability of findings: using clear trails, codebooks, and analytical frameworks so that conclusions can be followed back to the evidence they're grounded in.

Adaptive

I work iteratively, staying responsive to what emerges in the field rather than rigidly following a pre-set plan. Good research is a conversation, not a checklist.

Honest about limitations

Gender norms, social change, and the drivers of violence are inherently complex and contested — the kind of issues where clean, definitive answers are rarely possible. I'm upfront about that. Rather than presenting findings with false certainty, I'm explicit about confidence levels, the limitations of the data, and what can and cannot be concluded from the evidence.

Technical Support on Gender & Protection

Expert guidance on GBV prevention, harmful practices, and engaging men and boys. I help organisations develop contextualised, evidence-based strategies that address the root causes of violence — and adapted to the realities on the ground.

Norms Measurement

Existing measurement tools in GBV prevention often fail to capture how communities themselves understand and experience attitude, behaviour and norms change. I work with organisations to develop indicators that are participatory, contextually grounded, and methodologically robust — producing evidence that is locally meaningful and technically credible.

Research & Evaluation

Full research cycle support — from study design and tool development through data collection, analysis, and reporting - for operational and strategic learning. I specialise in feminist and trauma-informed methodologies, and mixed-methods approaches.

Training & Learning Facilitation

Capacity-building for research teams, M&E staff, and community organisations. I design and facilitate researcher trainings, validation workshops, and learning exercises — drawing on Freirean pedagogy to make sessions interactive, reflective, and practically useful.
